Front Cabin Design, Modeling and Visualization
For the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), we developed the exterior design of the new Stadler CQ400 metro trains. The aim was to create a modern and distinctive appearance that carries MARTA’s strong visual identity into a new generation of vehicles.
A key feature is the striking front light signature, which changes colour to indicate the relevant metro line – Red, Gold, Green or Blue – making each service easy to recognise from a distance.
The new trains will gradually replace the existing fleet and are scheduled to enter passenger service from 2026.
The “Big Smile” quickly emerged as the defining feature of the new front design. Its lighting can change to match the colour of the respective metro line.
