For Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi (FART), we developed a distinctive vehicle design that clearly sets itself apart from the existing fleet while fitting naturally into the landscape of Ticino.
The project included the development of a new front design with a confident, modern and welcoming character, as well as several design variants incorporating the Swiss cross as a key visual element. The Color & Trim concept was also carefully developed to ensure that the train blends harmoniously with its surroundings throughout the year.
The vehicle was presented at InnoTrans 2024.
Front design
From the start of the project, the client chose to develop a completely new design. Through several rounds of refinement, the overall design language was shaped, evaluated and developed into the final solution.
Livery and Details
Inspired by the natural colours of the Centovalli region, we developed a range of exterior livery concepts, which were gradually refined into the final design.
As the redesign coincided with the Centovalli Railway’s 100th anniversary, we also created a commemorative logo for the occasion and integrated it into the exterior design.
