Adaptable Cabin Design

The project began in 2016 with the idea of creating a modular front-end design that could be adapted to the different technical and visual requirements of various vehicles and operators. The aim was to establish a recognisable design foundation while allowing a large proportion of the geometry and components to be reused across different projects.
Key requirements included:

maintaining optimised driver visibility

flexible integration of buffers and coupling systems

integration of a new STA crash concept

a friendly, dynamic and distinctive appearance
Depending on the project, elements such as the transition to the carbody, side doors, interior requirements and the relevant loading gauge can be adapted to suit the specific vehicle. At the same time, much of the core design remains unchanged, creating a consistent visual identity across different vehicle types.
Since its development, the front-end design has been used in more than 15 projects, each time adapted to the specific technical and design requirements of the vehicle.
